Bumble Profile Pro Tips

Bumble Profile Pro Tips

Now that you’ve made the first move and signed up for Bumble, we're here to help you make your profile as awesome as possible. Whether you're looking for a date or a new BFF, your profile has to stand out.

We know the struggle: Figuring out which photos to use in your profile and how to talk about yourself in your bio blurb can be hard. You want to share who you are but retain some mystery; look like your best self but also show your silly side; and manage to make it all both authentic and attractive. It’s sort of amazing to think a few well-chosen photos and an off-handed joke could be the catalyst for your next true love or a lifelong friendship. (Just check out our “Success Stories” series!)

If you're ready to start seeing the right swipes roll in, follow a few of our favorite tips for making your profile the best it can be.

Make your first photo stand out!
Your first photo is your calling card on the app - make it your best one. We've found showing off your smile, your eyes (without sunglasses) and your whole face (without a Snapchat filter) make a positive first impression. Make sure it's only you in this first photo. It's great to include photos with your friends too, but you want your potential matches to know just who it is they'll be swiping right on when they land on your profile.

Keep your highlight reel real.
It's always better to show than to tell when it comes to your photos. If you're adventurous, show that off by including that great pic of you cliff-diving in Majorca. If your dog is the center of your world, include a cute snap of you and the pup. Your photos are all about showcasing slices of your actual life, especially the slices you’d like to share with someone. Remember, photos with no interference from photoshop or Facetune will attract people who are into the real you, so post those unedited pics!

Less is not more.
Don’t leave your profile blurb blank! This is your opportunity to show off your amazing sense of humor and let your next potential match get to know a little bit about you. Everyone loves a funny, unique profile. Remember to keep it positive! For guys who are looking for a date, asking a question in your profile that a woman can answer as her first message to you is always a good idea.

Show off your most special and specific self.
Lots of people are fun, outgoing, adventurous, love to travel, or enjoy being active. Give specific examples or anecdotes that show your matches what sets you apart. If you like to cook, what’s your favorite dish to make? Have you been to a great concert or festival recently? What’s your favorite local haunt on a Saturday night? What about your favorite knock knock joke? These are the things the best profiles are made of. (Also, a link to your Instagram never hurts.)

Ask a trusted bestie or guy friend for help!
Our final piece of advice: Call for backup! Your friends can be your best wingpeople when it comes to your dating profile. Sometimes we can be our own worst critics, and our friends (both male and female!) can help us see things we might miss. Ask them how they might describe you, or the things about you that stand out the most. Allow your closest confidants to take a look at your camera roll or Instagram and help select some great photos, too. (It's been scientifically proven that letting someone else choose your profile photo results in more matches!)

Now that you're armed with a few of our favorite profile-improvement tips, put them to the test! The right swipes should start pouring in.
