5 Essentials for A Stylish Dorm Room

We know you probably hate to hear it, but back-to-school season is basically here. It’s time to get your dorm room style on point for the new year. We’ve outlined five essential items for your half of that all-important campus home base.

A reading lamp for late-night study sessions

It’s a fact: Overhead lighting in dorm rooms is never flattering. Give your room a softer glow (and have a mellow source of light late at night) with one of these cool and stylish desk lamps. (Our favorite is the one shaped like a pineapple.)

Cozy bed linens that will make your twin XL bed more tolerable

This is probably the only time in your life you’ll have to sleep in a twin XL size bed, and we’ll be honest, they’re not the best. However, with a cool, crisp sheet set (and a comfy mattress pad!) you’ll still be able to get a great night’s sleep.

Frames for your posters and photos

You’d be amazed how much more adult and stylish your side of that dorm room will look if you opt to put your favorite photos and posters in frames rather than taping them to the wall. (Also, look for stick-on wall hooks so you don’t have to pay a damage deposit!)

Smart hacks to make your small closet feel more organized and efficient

Dorm room closets are small.  That’s just the way it is. Make yours as functional as possible with three game-changer hacks: stick-on lights that turn on when you open the door, super-slim hangers that allow you to hang way more stuff, and an adjustable hang bar that doubles the hanging space!

Jewelry and makeup organizers and other pretty things for your dresser area

Your dresser and vanity area is your special space. You’ll want to make it your own with storage and display pieces for your jewelry and makeup. Maybe even a succulent? (Don’t worry, you don’t have to work very hard to keep it alive.)
